The seventeenth volume of the art-historical journal Folia Historiae Artium, published by the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, which appeared at the end of 2019, is entirely devoted to research on stained glass, dating mainly from the nineteenth and the first half of the twentieth century. All articles in the present volume, by scholars from Poland, Germany, Austria, Spain, Great Britain, Switzerland and the United States, appear in English. They are based on papers presented at the international conference “Stained Glass from c. 1800 to 1945: Terminology – Periodization – Forms”, organised by the Centre for Stained Glass Studies in collaboration with the Corpus Vitrearum Poland.
