The book series Stained Glass from the Years 1800–1945 in the Roman Catholic Churches of the Metropolises of Cracow and Przemyśl, is the outcome of a research project funded by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education – the National Programme for the Development of the Humanities, conducted at our Institute in 2012–2017 under the supervision of Professor Wojciech Bałus as a part of the international Corpus Vitrearum scheme.

The project was aimed at presenting a possibly detailed survey and initial scholarly evaluation of stained glass from the period 1800–1945 surviving in sacred buildings on the territories of the Metropolises of Cracow and Przemyśl. It resulted in a five-volume book series encompassing the Archdiocese of Cracow, Diocese of Bielsko-Żywiec, Diocese of Tarnów and Diocese of Kielce.
